Beavers
Age Range: 5¾ years to 8 years
The Beaver Scout Colony programme is fun, flexible and varied. Activities are based
on the two year experience of a Beaver scout and each activity being of equal importance.
There
are no formal groups of lodges except those set up to suit the occasion. Beaver Scouts
can gain five activity badges and three challenge awards within their time in the
Colony through taking part in a variety of activities. These awards along with a
personal challenge go towards gaining the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award.
There will also
be the opportunity for the youngster to attend a Beaver sleep over. This activity
is a great experience for Beavers as they get an early taste of camping.

to the Cub Scout Pack is made over a period of four to six weeks during which the
youngster will gain their Moving-
There are 12 Activity Badges that a Beaver
can achieve. Some of these badges are: Animal Friend, Creative, Experiment, Explore
and Faith.
The Challenge Awards are: Promise, Fitness, Creative, Global, Friendship
and Outdoor. If a Beaver complete all six of these awards they will gain the Chief
Scout’s Bronze Award
