Cubs
Age Range: 8 years to 10½ years
The Cub Scout Pack is organised into teams of Sixes each with a leader (Sixer) and
a helper (Seconder) to head them. Each of the sixes wears a different coloured woggle,
giving each six their own identity.
Whilst working together each Cub Scout is encouraged
to make individual progress through the following Challenge Awards: Caring, Creative,
Fitness, Promise, Global, and Outdoor.
If a cub completes all six of these challenges
they will gain the Chief Scout’s Silver Award.
There are also 33 activity badges to
be gained, some of which are: DIY, Chef, Camper, Art, Athletics, Home Help, Entertainer,
Global Conservation, and Collector, plus many more.
During their time in the Cub Scout
Pack, each Cub will have the opportunity of attending a Camping Activity. This will
be the youngsters first experience of camping outdoors as a scout.
The link to the
Scout Troop is made over a period of four to six weeks during which they will gain
their Moving-
